My worlds collide

This past week Brandon and I were visited by a team of seven from our home church in Oklahoma, Norman Community Church. They came not so much to visit us specifically as to encourage the whole All Nations family and share what they have learned in Norman. They shared their experience about community, building a house church network, persevering to see fruit and experiencing more of God's power. It was an incredible week!

I'd been feeling stressed and worn out, spent in my desire to give to the people here. Through the Norman team, I was refreshed and encouraged. What God spoke to me can be summed up in the picture that Mary Beth, one of the team members, told me on Thursday as she prayed for me.

"I saw a wheat field that was at harvest time. And then I saw you walking in the field, and you had a beautiful white dress on. You were laughing and enjoying yourself. The sun was warm and bright and shining on you, and you were delighting in it."

That's what I think life is supposed to be like. And I feel much more like that picture now that I've released the pressure I was putting on myself, and instead just decided to accept the love that's there for the taking.

The team from Norman really poured into our community here. They prepared, too, and one of the team members, Beth, sent me the picture of their family's calendar. In the lead-up to the parents coming to Cape Town, the whole family spent time each day learning about South Africa and praying for us here in Cape Town. I thought it was a sweet, sweet picture and I've included it in this post. (I want to do things like that when I have kids!)
